Danios are good fish to keep as they're great for beginners, they can be kept in tropical taks and can adapt to live in cold water tanks too. Please don't get goldfish unless you're willing to clean it out quite often (as they are the dirtiest of fish) and keep them in a larger tank (as it's completely untrue that they just grow to the size of the tank - they might stop growing outwardly, but their internal organs still keep growing and eventually kill them).

Everyone keeps saying goldfish, but they are harder to keep than most people realize. They are the most pooping fish that you can have, so you have to clean their tank so often, it would become a hassle, and you also can't have it just in a bowl like lots of people do, its just not enough room and it stunts their growth...I would definately recommend a BETTA FISH! They are extremely easy to care for and they don't need all those filters, or air pumps. You feed them once every few days, and they only need a few pints of water to live in....And they are very pretty fish. They come in a variety of colors and are fun to watch
Hope this Helps

Depends on how big a tank you want. If you have a smaller tank, get a small fish. Don't get a goldfish unless you have a bigger tank. There are some incredibly cute smaller fish out there, and you can also get a pretty betta which are pretty easy to take care of.

If you have a warm water tank, you might want to think about danios, platies, tetras, swordtails, and other types of tetras and livebearers. If you have a cold water tank, probably either goldfish, bettas, shrimp, or snails would do.

One with a pulse. I kept cold water fish for years - better than tropical.
