A solution is 36.95% hydrochloric acid by mass and has a density of 1.195 g/mL. Find its molarity and molality.

I found the molarity to be 12.11 mol HCl/ L . So now I just need the molality.

Molality = # moles of solute / kg of solvent

If the solution is 36.95% by weight HCl, then this means that for every 100 grams of solution, there are 36.95 grams of HCl, and 63.05 grams of water. 36.95 grams of HCl = 1.01 moles of HCl, while 63.05 grams = 0.06305 kg of water.

1.01 moles/0.06305 kg = 16.02 m
