Amelia Grey writes historical romantic comedies: Never a Bride, A Dash of Scandal, A Little Mischief, A Hint of Seduction, A Taste of Temptation.
Nicoly Byrd's books have quite a lot of humor, as do Anne Gracie's, and, if you don't mind a little magic mixed with your romance, Patricia Rice's.
For adventure and humor in a historical, try Betina Krahn's The Book of the Seven Delights and The Book of True Desires, or The Husband Test, The Wife Test, and The Marriage Test.

The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon has some funny moments & observations. Even though the books aren't really considered "humour" I laughed out loud (oops - lol) a few times.
Outlander
Dragonfly in Amber
Voyager
Drums of Autumn
The Fiery Cross
A Breath of Snow and Ashes

I think you should read "Green Mansions" by W.H. Hudson.
It's a romance that takes place in the Amazon.
It's historical.
There are native americans, a jungle girl, and a man who comes to escape civilization.
The flowery descriptions might amuse you.
It's really terrific.

Sir Walter Scott's Ivanhoe has a rich vein of humor, largely ironic, which is a check on any excessive tendency to sentimentalism.
