No, it didn't pay as much as his regular job. But I think he owned a few Mayors and police chiefs.

No, Al Capone was never an official of the city of Chicago. He was a gangster; glamorous and influential but ultimately on the wrong side of the law. It never ceases to amaze me how long a shadow he still casts, 60 years after his death.

Al Capone was a notorious gangster in Chicago; the only

thing they finally arrested him for was tax evasion. I live

in Chicago, and I know for a fact, there is a lot of corruption

in the city politics. Maybe they should have made him mayor.

Capone died of cardiac arrest January 25th, 1947, and was never mayor of anything. So by default....

He was neither, he was one of the most noted gangsters in US history, and he was eventually arrested for income tax evasion and not the mobster crimes. You can read more at the link below.

no - he was just a plain and ordinary mobster who didn't pay taxes, sold illegal booze, and killed all his enemies and competitors. except of course Mr Elliot Ness who with the help of the IRS put him away for income tax evasion.
