Im looking for some software that means i can play music from my laptop over the network to the laptops speakers but also the other pc so i can make use of all the houses speakers.

There is a program called JetAudio. It allows you to stream audio over the Internet so as long as the two computers have Internet access (you need just a little faster than dial-up), then you can stream the music right onto the computers. The program works like Windows Media Player so the design is pretty easy to use. Note: you may need a DSL or Cable connection to stream the media out of one computer to the two others.

no not that i know of that wouldnt involve the net and even at that it would never be in sync with each computer cos of net congestion but you could get a cable from your laptop's line out port going into your line in on your pc and then let the pc speakers play the sound

Nope no such software. You could share the songs on your network and play them off one computer though. My suggestion would be to set up the same playlist on each computer and try and hit play at the same time...
