I think they should. I mean, what a pointless waste of time and money. They think they are so much better than everyone else. Why should they get so much free money? Charles as the next king. Why dont we just appoint a monkey instead. It would be more productive.

Since they are all the descendants of gangsters, we should take all the money and land away. Surely it is all the proceeds of crime.

Oh and I suppose you think they should be replaced by "commoners" like Mr. Blair or Mr. Cameron.

No, I think the Royals should have greater influence and the middle class exclusivity of the House of Commons should come to a sharp end. I believe quite firmly that MP's leech more money from the British people than the Royal family do.

The Royal family are an institution of the UK that brings tourism in to the country.

The Government is an institution of the UK that brings terrorism in to the country.

We need to get rid of that grinning fool and his like from the Commons. Since the 70's, all we've had are the over-privelidged in power in Parliament. And all the trappings of dishonesty and corruption that go with it.

"Why dont we just appoint a monkey instead."

We did, his name is Tony.

The only reason Blair would want to get rid of the Monarchy is so he can sell the titles of King and Queen. They should fetch some real cash and provide a Summer home in Monaco.

It's time for a change.

circumstances have not 'replaced'. there's no calendar by making use of which human society strikes. The presence of monarchy says no longer something relating to the plain 'progression' of a rustic, in straight forward terms that it has a monarchy. stay away from Whig historic previous in any respect expenditures. that's fake that during straight forward terms center-eastern countries have monarchies. Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy, yet Europe's monarchies (Britain, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and Norway) are constitutional monarchies. besides, in terms of social values and high quality of existence, they're quite often the wonderful performing in Europe. Sweden and Norway are immediately noted as very beneficiant and socially dynamic. The British monarchy has a brilliant kind of crucial constitutional roles to play to assist our united states of america, maximum of which i won't be able to have time to quote right here. for specific, that's the two an emblem and a lodestone for the British in a disaster, and is a element of stability in a immediately changing and fritful international; human beings relish something that's fastened and serves as a link to our previous. The Queen additionally serves Parliament by making use of performing as a constitutional 'undemanding broking service', an 'Umpire', apolitical and unbeholden to each individual, something an elected occupation baby-kisser can't gain.

Ironically the Monarch can get rid of the government for being a pointless waste of time and money but I like the idea of a monkey taking over and how about a Magpie as Chancellor?

I agree with the fact that these royal people are over loaded with your country men cash and to be fair there duties have no more need in nowadays life. However you'll find that You guys are pretty defencive when we (the french in my case) start criticising your monarchy! These people are what ever is left of your great Empire and some how a lot of English men (women) are still very proud of their Queens... It is such a shame for them to have all this money while some of their "subjects" got so little...

1. They don't think they are better than everyone else.
2. What free money? A lot of the Queen's money (and she's not the richest person in the country by far) is from inheritance and investments. The money she does get from the civil list helps to pay for the upkeep of her public buildings and the staff's wages plus all those tedious business trips she has to go on.
3. The tedious business trips she has to go on. Yeah, she travels a lot but at 82, she would probably rather not. She might find the odd person she meets genuinely interesting but whether she finds them interesting or extremely boring, she still has to listen to what everyone says to her, shake their hands and I've yet to see her glance at her watch or stifle a yawn.
4. There have been ten British Prime ministers and countless more politicians from this country and abroad who would tell you that she is far from pointless, they have all admitted to being advised by her and are amazed about her knowledge of modern politics and the state of affairs in the world. Every day, she has her red boxes to sort out just like the politicians do but she's been at it for 55 years, none of them have.
5. She does what she does despite being on several international death lists.
6. I had the priviledge of meeting this lady in her London HQ when I was a teenager and it remains one of the most special moments of my life.
7. When you've given as much of your life to the country as she has, come back and we'll consider your inane and personal remarks once more.

Finally to the little French girl who thinks we'll so much better off saying 'vive la republique.', Yes, the Queen is richer than I am but I am considerably richer than most of the population of the planet, as are you. I take it you can have a drink of water within seconds of where you are sitting by simply switching on a tap; do you know how luxurious that will sound to millions of your global neighbours? I know where my next meal is coming from, It's coming out of my freezer. that's like science-fiction to so many people. So please don't bring the Queen's riches against her or I'll bring yours against you.

I think they should just bypass Charles altogether and go straight to Prince William...he seems like he's got a better head on his shoulders than his father!!

Yes. This 'tourism' argument doesn't wash with me. Do Americans and the Japanese really think they are going to meet the Queen and co on their hols? Plus it's undemocratic. I don't want TB to be president, just someone who has a brain and won't take us to war.

They do the things they think are right, I suppose. I don't think a President is working out so hot for the States right now. Every form of Government has it's ups and downs.
