First of all, you probably do have schizophrenia due to your recollection of events. There are rules to "throwing" patients into tiny rooms. These rooms are used for patients who are a "danger to themselves or others". You must have been violent or out of control to end up in one of these rooms. Furthermore, you would have gone through a crisis center. Only, if you were not able to get a hold of your faculties, would you have been transferred to a mental hospital for further stabilization. You would be given the opportunity to willingly take any medications ordered for 1-3 days after arrival (depending on the time of your 5150). If you refused after this point, you would have been "Riesed", which means that you get the option to take oral but will get an injection if you are not cooperative. Being locked up for two months shows the severity of illness you have and are in denial of. You also get injections, probably a decoante, because you will not be compliant with your medicine regimen.
Forget the lawsuit and learn about your illness. Good luck to you.

Do you see things that arent there? Do you here voices telling you what to do? Do you have no justifiable explaination for your actions? Maybe they just want you to think you have schizophrenia. They dont even have a clue about what schizophrenia is or how it is caused. Schizophrenia is very rare and is most often misdiagnosed.I would recommend going to a differant shrink on your own free will. Try to figure out the real problem. Schizophrenia is the rarest form of mental illness. The lady that said you have it because of your recollection of events is obviously taught and paid to think that way. It just means you have a descriptive memory of events, and the most traumatic you are able to remember in great detail. Meanwhile try to get a lawyer and collect disability. Go see a shrink and limit the amount of medication you take. Medication makes people act very different than they normally would. And in most cases only makes problems worse.

In your post, you do not describe what events led up to your father punching you. I suspect there is a good bit of information you are not sharing with us. That's ok, we are just the anonymous internet audience. You do not have to disclose everything to us. But without full disclosure it is difficult to acertain the true landscape of this situation.
What you describe is not a usual situation. It is not unusual for families to have internal tensions or strained feelings on all sides. But what you describe is way beyond that. You are 30; not 13. Generally a 30 yr old is working and supporting himself, living independent of his parents, contributing to society, maintaining a social network or friends or a long-term relationship with a partner. If this criteria doesn't apply to you; or the reason it doesn't is other people's fault or their plotting to bring you down, you should seriously consider the idea that you are suffering from schizophrenia.
Schizophrenia is a terrible, heartbreaking disease. The disease makes it nearly impossible for the sufferer to trust anyone or to create emotional bonds with the people nearest to them. Paranoia is a symptom of schizophrenia. It is not unusual for a sufferer to not realize they are sick. The good news is that medications can ease the symptoms of schizophrenia.
I advise you to stick with the program and medications for a good, long while. Keep a diary of how you feel and what you are thinking each day. If you are sick then you should experience a gradual improvement in how you feel and this will be reflected in your diary. If your parents and psychiatrist has made a mistake, you'll have plenty of evidence in your diary you can use against them.
I cannot imagine how terrifying this is for you. Best wishes to you and I hope your life gets back on track.

it sounds like you are in a very bad situation. although maybe you are leaving out some details- it is very rare for such things to happen these days. You may want to consider calling 1-800-96-ABUSE to investigate the whole situation. I am sorry tp hear that this is going on. If you can prove your mental stability you can sue both your parents and the mental hospital for psychological damages- and if it is how you say- you will probably win. But the tricky part is proving your mental stability. Good luck

A lawyer will help you, you just haven't found the right one yet. There are ways to prove that you do not have schizophrenia if I were you I would try and have those tests done. Survilence in a mental institute is one of those ways.

You would need to find a lawyer -- it's a hard case to prove.
But yes, from the facts, there are potential claims for false imprisonment, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and others.
But it's going to be a long uphill battle.
