Okay so they waste a lot of money on cafeteria food, instead of making a sandwich they always buy caf food. But what's something else they waste on. Besides drugs and alcohol.

clothing, movies, games, drugs, alcohol, shoes, costume jewelry, coffee, and anything else you can think of... unless of course they pay for things out of their own pockets... those teens tend to be a bit more intelligent about their spending.

It may be a matter of OPINION in some cases... I mean someone could say that the kid wastes money on VIDEO GAMES but what about the mother who buys TOO MANY TOWELS, right? Or the dad and his SANDALS or KAYAKS. I mean we all buy things sometimes to get us by... It's a matter of what you can afford when it comes to material goods. We also have to think about the TOLL on the environment and we have to ask if that company EMMITS too many TOXINS when they produce that particular product that teh product is not worth it in the end b/c we all dies of cancer or something....
LARGELY and primarily:we need to maybe think a little bit about ETHICS and ask is it ethical?

teenagers tend to spend other peoples money, not their own.
