The first priority (to me) would be get out of Iraq--you gotthat right! :) But you are also on the mark about the aftermath. I would do two things. First--redeploy to Afghanistan to get that situation under control. Second--and in the long run far more important--start a serious program of economic investment in the peoples of these regions. It is their poverty and desperation that creates an opening for organized terrorists to set up shop. And I don't mean beachfront hotels as in Beirut. That means real help to real people--health care, sanitation, education--and programs of economic development to provide jobs and, most critically, hope.

Second priority--push for policy changes that would enable the many companies who have alternative energy technologies a fair shot in the market (right now they are hamstrung by pro-fossil fuel policies and laws)--along with real policy changes to encourage conservation and action on global warming.

Third--and this will suprise most people--so read ALL of this. A massive and ongoing committment to develop advanced orbital manned space technology. Why? Simple--right now there is a new "space race"--and as it stands the US is way behind and losing ground daily. And the laudable--and promising--commmercial efforts are not going to be enough to counter that without support. This i s critical for one simple reason: economics. Space technology and manufacturing is going to be THE cutting-edge technology in at least for major industries (electronics/computers; biotechnology; materials science/technology; and pharmaceuticals) in the forseeable future. The countries who take the lead will be the technology leaders of the 21st century. The countries that don't--will be also-rans.

Fourth--fix the immigration problem. That's the easy one: a permanent guest worker problem and an amnesty option for (working) illegals already here. Let the bigots scream--they'll shut up in a few weeks, and the problem will be solved--and we'll be able to secure our borders--that really is a national security risk as things stand.

i do no longer think of a controversy or many themes is the suited onus, i think a applicants entire capacity, the all encompassing consequence they might have must be the determinator. Age is a key ingredient Clinton is now too previous and can drag by way of 4 to eight years purely as this century gained a liveliness and momentum, that would deny that huge fowl interior the sky actual wingspan and reason loss and harm besides the certainty that unseen yet basically the blunting of a countries valid credit and properly worth. Obama has style and character however the sweetness easing and oozing that's silent way under the carpet and beginning may be purely as unacceptable. Giuliani is a small zone or small section genius and grasp although strategies utilized by making use of wizards on the CIA might coach that that power might fail to conform and adapt at greater a international and accountability. John Edwards has secure, calm and assertive company and impact that would prevail interior the optimum illustration although the roadblock of Mrs Clinton's might too effectively bog down and thwart him as different worth and actual "winners" have been before by making use of destiny and danger.... lost interior the tendrils of time and attempt. Mitt Romney may be the well-liked and superb next president with a sparkling, particularly youthful and precise an honoring and pleasurable of all of the factors in spite of any peculiarities in few of regardless of the undeniable fact that many themes offerred as others is often interior the realm of specialization and grace of. i'm an Australian and don't help any candidate.

Getting rid of terrorism - continue the War on Terrorism , because if we loose it , nothing else will matter .
Strengthen our military .
Keep improving our national security .
Balance the budget .
Revamp ways to handle the national drug problem .
Social security .
Illegal immigration .
Find more incentives for businesses to remain in the U.S.
Hold hearings on treasonous acts by U.S. citizens holding ( past or present ) public office . At the top of my list would be Hillary Clinton ; Bill Clinton ; John Kerry :Dick Durbin : John Kerry ; Ted Kennedy ; Joe Kennedy - and Al Gore for perpetrating the biggest fraud in history .
And since we can abolish frivolous lawsuits - what about frivolous political correctness run amok ?

-Announce my allegiance to Israel

-Signal my dislike for the office I am running for, and insist the solutions come from the "private sector"

-Make it clear that I will work for corporations and just pay lip service to the avergae voter
