Yogurt Face Mask for Sensitive Skin
This soothing mask is great for chapped, sunburned or irritated skin.
Extra tip: This mask works well for other skin types as well. For oily skin, add a couple drops of lemon or lime juice. For dry skin, mix in a couple tablespoons of honey.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup natural yogurt (we like it just-out-of-the-fridge cold)
½ cup oatmeal (any type of basic oatmeal works here)
PREPARATION:
Mix the ingredients together.
Apply to the skin for 15 minutes.
Wash off mask with a warm washcloth.
Don't have yogurt in the house? You can substitute Pepto-Bismol. (No, we're not kidding! The agents that soothe your stomach also soothe your face).
Homemade Face Mask for Aging Skin
This mask works well for maturing skin, since sugar is a natural exfoliant and will help soften the lines your skin creates as it ages.
INGREDIENTS:
3 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp warm water
PREPARATION:
Melt sugar in warm water.
Make sure granules are dissolved, otherwise they may tear your skin.
Apply to the face and leave for 10 minutes.
Gently massage around the skin.
Rinse.
Milk Mask for Dry Skin
This recipe makes a mask for two
INGREDIENTS:
1 tsp powdered milk
1 tbsp almonds, pulverized in a food processor
1 tbsp runny honey
1 tsp aloe vera gel
2 drops essential oil
PREPARATION:
Mix ingredients well, apply to face, let sit for 15 minutes, wash off with warm water. This recipe is enough for two.
Homemade Face Mask for Dry Skin
Avocados and honey are particularly moisturizing.

Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in the honey.

Run a washcloth under cool water, then rinse face
Rose Face Mask for Combination Skin
This mask, based on roses, is perfect for balancing out the oily and dry areas of your skin.
INGREDIENTS:
Optional: 6 fresh rose petals
2 tbsps rosewater
1 tbsp natural yogurt, room temperature (not lowfat or non-fat)
1 tbsp runny honey (to get honey runny, you can warm it in a microwave for a few seconds).
PREPARATION:
Soak rose petals, then crush them in a bowl.
Add the rosewater, yogurt and honey.
Mix well and apply to the skin.
Leave on for 10 minutes.
Rinse.
Simple Mask for Oily, Acne-Prone Skin
INGREDIENTS:
1 bottle Milk of Magnesia
PREPARATION:
Apply the Milk of Magnesia to face.
Wash with warm washcloth after 15 minutes
Homemade Clay Mask for Oily or Acne-Prone Skin
Clay masks help neutralize skin. You can pick up clay from any health-food store
INGREDIENTS:
A basic fuller's earth clay (if skin is sensitive, try a French green clay)
1 tsp honey
water (for a richer mask, substitute whole milk)
your favorite essential oil
PREPARATION:
Mix 2 parts water to 1 part clay, mixing in a bit of honey.
Add more water if clay is too dry.
Add a few drops of the essential oil.
Keep mask on for 15 minutes.
Rinse off with a warm washcloth.
Tip: This recipe works for dry or normal skin too
Homemade 'Cat Litter' Mask for All Skin Types
cat litter is made of the same ingredients as special clays found in $100 spa facials.
INGREDIENTS:
1 bag cat litter (must be marked '100 Percent Natural Clay')
Water
Drops of your favorite essential oil
PREPARATION:
Mix in a couple tablespoons of the cat litter with water and drops of oil (we find the oil helps make the experience somehow less kitty litter-ish)
Apply mask to face
Wash off after 15 minutes.
Yogurt Face Mask for All Skin Types

Wash face with steaming washcloth.
For dry skin, use an extra tsp of honey.
Oily skin? Add a few drops of fresh lime juice

Raw honey works wonders because not only is it natural, but it has anti-bacterial properties that works just as good and probably better than any lab-made cream in the market. I Highly recommend honey facial masks.

You can make an oatmeal facial mask by using rolled oats in warm milk. Also a beaten egg works wonders for minimizing pores. Both are messy though!
