20 Assists by far.

It's a lot easier to dribble up the court and fire 40 shots then it is to find your guys and set them up to score 20 times in one game. That is why Nash wins the MVP and not Kobe, and Michael Redd, or guys like that. Plus, you can score when there is no time running (free throws) which gives you more oppurtunity to score. When your passing, making good decisions, finding passing lanes, the clock is ticking...giving you less time to rack up 20 of them.

Plus, all those sweet passes make one heck of a highlight reel. Jump shots aren't as impressive.

50 points is impressive, but 20 assists is a memorable game. Think about it if all those 20 assists you gave ended in 2 points each that would be 40 assisted points, or lets say half is 2 pointers and half is 3 pointers. Thats 50 points. Believe me if there was two players in game 7 of the NBA Finals , one that scored 50 points and the other 20 assists. Than the one with 20 assists would get the MVP.

definetly 20 assists...it has been done a whole lot less times than some-one scoring 50+ pts....

it's the pg or whoever dishes the rock that is find the open man and depending on them to make the open shot...that is the skill...knowing who is on fire and keep feeding them... running the fast break correctly....not turning over the ball

just like what someone said...scoring 50+pts is impressive but is overlooked by how many free-throws they attempt/made...even though it does show their aggression/hunger for a win...

but when you see a player get 20 assists...justs makes you say "damn...that was more than the opposing teams' total"

quick stat....number of times where two opposing players in the same game scored a sum of 100+ pts... six times...
number of times where two oppossing players had 20+ assisst or even 40+ assists combined... never happened

20 assists definitely. To get 20 assists you have to count on your teammates making shots and find them all game. It happens alot less often than a 50 point game.

Definately Kobe's eighty one, that's the 2d optimum scoring overall performance in NBA historic previous. in case you score eighty one factors in a pastime in spite of your assists or rebounds, you deserve alot of credit. LeBron's overall performance didnt even come on the element of that.
