Apply the minus sign to everything in the second parens.

-7z^3 +3z-1 + 6z^2 - z - 4
-7z^3 +6z^2 + 2z -5

You can only add and subtract like terms. I'll do the first two terms and you can carry on with the rest.

-7z^3 +6z^2.....

if the term is the same figure out the sign of the values being added/subtracted and simple math you get an answer.
