Nvidia Quadro4 900 XGL 128MB is better than Geforce Fx 5500 or not?

It depends what you want to do with the XGL. For gaming I really doubt it's going to be anywhere near as good as the FX 5500 because it's a workstation card. If you are into designing 3D modeling it is going to be much better than the FX 5500 because that's what the card is designed for. It is also a bit outdated in terms of some of newer technologies in the world of 3D modeling today.

The Fx 5500 on the other hand is designed for gaming but it's also a little outdated.
