I am hoping someone out there can help me asap, as my local sears store is closed on Sundays and I can't find info on the web, but would like to use the saw this afternoon.

thanks.

thanks for your responses - turns out I have a defective saw. I was finally able to call a tool dept at a Sears in a larger city and the guy told me they have had a lot of returns from the saw I have in this lot number. I was able to rig it to eventually work, but it took an awful lot of effort to pry the pin back for insertion (the lever that does it is malfunctioning). I'm going to exchange it - thanks for the responses.

hopefully you bought the right blades, it is either a allen screw that locks the blde down or a twist release near the blade just dont have it plugged in while you are doing it match the new blades to an old one if it is off just a little you got the wrong ones

Craftsman Sawzall

Someone said be sure to unplug it..this I agree with, but most reciprocating saws also have a guide pin where you are inserting the blade....run your Allen screw almost all the way out and tilt the saw to one side or the other so that the "mouth" falls open. I have a Craftsman Pro. Sawzall and have to do this to mine . Just tilt it which ever way makes the blade holding end open up. you'll see the pin in there. Hope this helps

Looks like everyone forgot one thing, maybe your pushing the wood to fast into the blade? otherwise all make sense.

Are you sure you dont have a broken piece of old blade in the saw?
