She was either curious because she heard from friends that boys do this thing, She was trying to embarass you just to see your reaction. She was hinting that she likes you or trusts you enough that she wants to know more about just you.
Masturbation is normal, okay, and everyone does it. It is good for you and your reproductive system and it really feels great and should be done as often as you like. However like all sexual things it should be private and confidential. If you know this girl well and trust that she will not tell everyone she and you know level with her.
