Numbers appear 30-10-10 on the bag. What is the best for summertime in a dry hot area (Riverside - California)?

The three numbers on the front of a bag of fertilizer refer to the percent (guaranteed minimum) of the three major nutrient elements in that particular fertilizer. In our example the actual amounts of these elements could be 25% Nitrogen, 17% Phosphorus, and 11% Potassium. Keep in mind that the numbers on the bag are the lowest amount of each element you will find in the bag.

A label that reads 20-15-10 should be translated as:
20% Nitrogen (N)

15% Phosphorus Oxide (P2O5)
(known as Potash)

10% Potassium Oxide (K2O)

its the content of the fertilzer in terms of Nitrogen (%) phosphorus nad potash if only three digits are given. if more than 3is given the fourth one shows someother nutrient. like in the case of 20:20:0:15 give 20 % N 20% p 0% K AND 15% SULPHUR

it is the amount of nitrogen ,phosphorus and other chemicals in the bag go to the fertilizers web site they will have all the recommendations for you

It's the percentage of the total of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. nkp or npk, I forget which order!
