Saddam was not only a butcher of his neighbor (Iran) but was a butcher to his own people. Saddam was not voted in, he was a dictator for life. Saddam was not cooperating with the UN as far as weapons inspections went. He violated a total of 17 UN security council resolutions since 1991.
Bush on the other hand doesnt LOVE war, he doesnt wish to murder people or committ a genocide on his own people. He (and democrats alike) decided to invade a country that was not cooperating with us or the UN over an issue that potentially threatened national security. Bush told no lies but was going off of inteligence that many other countries had. Hillary Clinton and John Kerry himself stood on the senate floor and made a case for the war in Iraq priot to the invasion and neither of them said it was based on anything Bush said, but their own thoughtful analysis of the situation.
Actually because of Bush's drive to do the war, Iraq now has a democracy that has held elections and established itself!!!
Until you can conjur facts and think more rationally, youre going to be stuck in Bush-hatred la-la-land. You need to learn to judge people based on better criteria than your personal hatred for the man and his religion.

That's the cornerstone of the democratic system. Whoever has more power and more support (sheer numbers, in the case of democracy) gets to make the rules.
Bush has the power. So he gets to decide which rules to follow and which laws he's going to ignore. Until someone else finds a way to get more power (through legal means), he's going to continue doing that.

Although I do agree that Iraq is a bogus war, I think you have clearly lost perspective of the distinction, here.
I'm not saying that our Idiot King is blameless, but he does not equate with Saddam in the slightest.

Because Saddam made an easy scapegoat and devil for everyone to rally against.
Fascist leaders, who are all to aware of their own leadership inadequacies, require a "devil" to rally against, and a "saint" to rally around.
Bush somehow convinced the religious right that somehow Saddam was even worse than Osama, and managed to corral Saddam for the role of "devil"
And, of course, who is going to save us from the devil but that tough decision maker daddy who is going to save us from the really bad men.
This, of course, is a gross oversimplification, but war presidents need wars, and more specifically, war presidents need very specific kinds of wars (as Noam Chomsky points out) against an easy target who serves as a major diversion for the government's failures.
