Time and time again I have crossed paths with gay men who act like drama queens. I am by no means homophobic, but this is a pattern I have noticed among gay men in particular. What is the deal? Isn't it drama enough to be a gay man in this world? Why make everything a soap opera?

I guess I don't know many gay drama queens. I just know female teenage ones (namely my daughters).

I don't have the luxury of making my daughters go away; however, I have found if you ignore drama it tends to stop. Just don't feed into it. Your friends will find someone else to tell their soap stories too.

Why do so many straight people sterotype gay males. Why are so many straight men drama queens they get mad rowed up over nothing and straight women there emotions are up and down there so dramatic and you call us gay males dramatic OKKKKK check your facts."Isn't it drama enough to be a gay man in this world" that you quoted uhmm .. if your not a gay male you wouldnt know how our lives are there you go again making ignorant statements lol i get treated fair i have loving friends male friends that treat me the same and a loving family. My sexuality orientation is a very small part of who I am. My word of advice to you is not be so ignorant and stop sterotyping.. And I bet you think all gay men parade around in Abercrombie and fitch and talk camp and cross dress. You have alot to learn about gay men and the gay comunity. Its gays around you all the time even married men football player etc. My point is just dont sterotype us.

I don't think gay men have the corner on the drama queen market. I would say that the biggest drama queens I've met in my life are straight women.

Does this mean that all straight women are drama queens? No. It means that the situations I've been in have, for one reason or another, revealed these women to have that tendency.

A good question to ask yourself might be: what sort of situations do I keep putting myself into that brings out this kind of behavior?

Well, I'm assuming that you didn't ask or that they didn't tell you they were gay. Am I right? If that's that case, drama queens probably seem to be the prevalent personality trait of gays simple because the others who are more calm don't do anything that get themselves noticed and immediately labeled as homosexual. No one ever says how many two leaf clovers there are because everyone is too busy looking for four leaf clovers (Hope that made sense).

I don;t think so many are drama queens, this has becoem the stereotype. I think you simply aren't noticing the many more gay men who are 'normnal' acting/looking.

It's like when we think 'teenager' we think moody, difficult, skipping school, lipping people off, etc. That's true, for a section of the population, but not all. Not even most.

I was asked out by a gorgeous long-haired made-up woman and didn't know it. I thought she just wanted to hang out, becasue I had that lesbian stereotype locked into my head. I had no clue she was gay and I think this is why you've been able to put a box around them. You aren't seeing the plethora of others who aren't in your box.

The biggest drama queens I've known have been heterosexual females (both with more sexual partners than I can count). Church mouse ("non-denominational") heterosexual males can be just as bad, though, but I think that most of them are in the closet. The only gay male I've known to be a major drama queen was also bipolar, but I think it had much more to do with that than his sexual orientation.

when you consider which you place self belief in stereotypes. sure, some gays are like that, i assume because of the fact they are uninterested in all the crap that they take from human beings. no longer all gay all people is like that, regardless of the indisputable fact that. i recognize a gay guy, and he's incredibly quiet.

Hmmm... I hate to point a finger, but does it occur to you that it may be that you attract people who are prone to drama? I'm a gay man, and almost none of my gay friends are drama queens.
