It means to take chances without reservation. Do "it" now before you have time to think about "it" or you'll change your mind. Some things come 'round only once in a lifetime. In short, it means: Take a chance and do it now.

It means seize the moment, live in the present, forget the past.
Don't think about what was before or about what will be, just try to make the best of this very minute that you have.
It's like a motto for some people because it speaks about freedom, about accepting that the past ist Past and that you don't know the future, so it urges people to let go of their rational thinking, to embrace a new kind of living.

I think of it as:
think of this moment instead of constantly thinking about the next thing or what you "could" be doing. You may find later that this moment was one of you best memories and regret that you were not totally engaged.

An example is a group of girls in the mall and each of them is on the cell phone with some friend and they are not even really engaging with each other at that moment.

Be very careful; my entire generation (the Baby Boomers) misunderstood that statement and created a society that is now wholly disfunctional!
The idea (borrowed from Taoism) is to live IN the moment. To live FOR the moment disconnects us from responsability for our actions and their results. Living In the moment allows us to disconnect from past and present in order to fully appreciate the now, but if anything it makes us hyper-responsible for the results of our actions because of that self-same ability to concentrate fully on the present. Without the distractions, we should be at our best in making moral decisions, to overcome the mistakes of the past and prevent those of the future.

Live 4 the moment is a metaphor for forgetting about everything but what you are currently experiencing.

Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may not come so it is best to focus on "now" because that is all we really have. Live it to the fullest so that when, and if, tomorrow arrives you can look back on this day with a smile instead of remembering it with a regretful heart.

I think of it as make the most of NOW, because tomorrow, or next week, you might not have the chance to do something. Whether it be saying something nice to someone, doing something fun for yourself, or appreciating a good meal or pretty day.

It means not to worry about the past or future. Just live for right now, and enjoy right now

Yesterday is gone, you cannot change it.
Tomorrow isn't here yet, you cannot change it.
Enjoy this moment for all it's worth and let the rest go!
