Has anyone used those OVULATION tests, and have they worked for them?

The ones that you can pee on, and they give you a result to say whether you are ovulating or not.

Hi,

You actually don't need to spend the money on an ovulation test as your body will tell you when you are ovulating for FREE!

Simply take your temperature when you wake up every morning. It will rise when you ovulate (around the middle of your cycle) and will stay higher until you get your next period. To give you some idea what you are looking for, my temp. rises from 36.5 to 36.7 degrees and higher after ovulation. Once released you egg remains viable for fertilisation for just 12-24 hours!
Also keep an eye on your mucus. It will become stretchy like egg white as you approach ovulation. This is your most fertile mucus and sperm can survive for up to 5 days in it.
If you are trying to get pregnant it is recommended that you have intercourse every other day during the week before you ovulate and then for a day or two after.
The Couple to Couple League offers classes or an excellent home study course, which teaches you all you could ever need to know about charting, that I can highly recommend. You can also learn charting basics on line with FertilityFriend.com.
Make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins and Good Luck!

Yes. You have to follow the instructions well - limit fluids approx. 2 hours before; take the test each day at the same time, at least 2 hours after you woke up (the LH rises when you are awake); and check the results about 10-30 minutes after you take the test. Checking the test too early sometimes gives you a false negative.

Start testing 17 days before you expect your next period (for example, if your cycle is 28 days, start testing on the 11th day from the beginning of your period).

Good luck!

Hi,I'm currently using a ovulation monitor, this is my first month. There is many different kinds ranging from £60-£100.I'm using the clear blue fertility monitor,i got this as my doctor recommended these,as its tailored to you,it has a memory and records all your information and even tells you when your next period is due. Most of all the best thing is that when you do a test.it picks up four more days of high fertility and also at peak ovulation there is a egg symbol, but this is designed to tell you before you ovulate so you can plan the time to make love.( i work nights) Lots of women use these and gives you a lot better chance of conceiving as soon as possible.

Hi, I never used these as they can be quite expensive.
Instead I joined a site called www.fertilityfriend.com
It was great, there's loads of information and support there to help you conceive.

The site teaches you how to 'chart' and the basic membership is free. Charting (in its simplist form) involves taking your temperature each day before you get out of bed and looking for changes (the site has online charting facilities to help) this can pinpoint you day of ovulation and in conjunction with looking at other things going on in your body you can even get advance warning!

It helped me conceive twice (miscarried 1st time) and I even knew I was pregnant before I missed a period by following my temperature trend!
