We are TTC and I went off BC in June and have yet to have a period. I went to the Docs and they firts put me on Provera and then I got only one false period in Jan from Provera. This month my Doc is testing for PCOS. Is this normal after going off BC or is it something else? (I won't get my PCOS results for a couple weeks and am worried). Thanks!

Wow - you're patient! I went of BC in July (to try to get pregnant) and after 3 months of no periods I went to my doctor. She diagnosed me with PCOS and gave me provera to start my period, then clomid to make me ovulate. It worked the first month, but unfortunately I had an early miscarriage. Now we're trying again.

Have you looked up info on PCOS? Now that I know what a lot of the symptoms are, it seems obvious that I have PCOS. Here's a link to the pamphlet my doctor gave me about it:

there are lots of of issues to evaluate jointly as attempting to concieve. #a million some women human beings it may desire to soak up to a twelve months to concieve after utilising any sort of BC. #2 are you being energetic for the time of your maximum fertile days once you're ovulating, teqnichally you're maximum fertile in basic terms about2-3 days.#3 do no longer over do it, your stress ranges would be too extreme and which will maximum definately quit you from concieving.stress is without doubt one in all the main optimum motives to miscarriages. and while your physique identity decrease than stress it do no longer function perfect. and #4 take a injury have not got intercourse merely because of the fact take it sluggish and remember the reason for having intercourse; when you consider which you adore eachother and you intend to make a toddler out of love. good success to you. I actually have a three month previous son and that they are the main important miracles ever. with any luck your miracle is on the way quickly.

it is not normal for your period not to return for such a long time. Also, bc does not cause PCOS. I would work with your doctor to find out what is going on. Also, if you are highly stressed, that can affect your periods as well. See what your doc can tell you. I wish you much luck in TTC!

It does happen. Some women take up to a year to start getting regular periods again after coming off the pill. 80% of women get periods again within 3 months, and 95% within 6months, so you may just be one of the unlucky 5% who takes up to a year.
Try not to worry. It might just be your body sorting itself out, rather than a major problem.

If you were on the depo shot, you wont get a period for at least 5 months,(after stopping it) they usually dont recommend the shot if you plan on conceiveing within the next year~...for me it took 8 months to conceive, 5 with my last one!..it all depends on your body and how it takes to the shot~ Its normal for you to not have a period for at least that time~...Dont be worried you will get pregnant again~ its just a waiting process after depo~
