I'm kind of fond of Cuban myself.

And I like Caribbean...the black sound with steel drums etc. That may not be considered Latin.

There is this new age guitar player named Jesse Cooke. He is really slick, soft and Mexican sounding, but jazzy too, he plays spanish style acoustic guitar. He is (or used to be, not sure now) on the Narada label.

And then there is good old Carlos Santana. Hello.

You could try Ruben Blades - he is a salsa singer - we play his music a lot in our house - or Celia Cruz - she also sings salsa. You can also try tango music (my favourite) - look out for Carlos Gardel. There is also Luis Miguel (ballads/boleros). Hope this helps!
