Why can the American Public expect feasible Solar Energy automobiles to come into production?

Decades. The problem is the efficiency of the solar panels. They don't produce enough energy (by percentage) to be able to power an automobile.

However, electric cars have been feasible for over a decade, and were in mass production during the 1990s until the oil companies persuaded the major car manufacturers to stop production. And electric cars can be recharged using any form of electricity, whether generated from large solar farms (which are somewhat feasible), windmill farms, or conventional electric power generation grids.

Then there's hydrogen powered cars, which are very efficient and successful in parts of Europe. Plenty of alternatives. But there's no incentive to use them, given the current economic system and the strength of the oil lobby.

Never. Solar energy takes forever to charge, and doesn't work at night. Biodiesel, if anything, is the next new thing, and there are several companies with the technology developed to start producing it. You'll see it before you see Hydrogen, bet on it.

Solar power is not a concentrated enough energy source to power a car. That DOESN'T mean that we should accept that the gas powered otto cycle engine is now and forever, (which it CAN'T be!!). There ARE alternatives!!!
