any kind of standard vehicle especially a chevrolet requires at least 4 1/2 quarts...put 4 in let sit for a few minutes and check and more if necessary...if all else fails check the manual

if it's got the i5 in it takes 6 quarts with filter and 5 1/2 without if it's 4 cylinder 5 quarts with filter 4 1/2 without. good luck

It should tell you in the owners manual in the glove box. 5 qt.s with a filter change is standard.
