the water splashed from my kettle which had boiling water in it.....only one of the burners won't light. all the others do work.

thank you all...i lifted the cover and both pilot lights are on...there is one pilot light for 2 burners...so I'm thinking the burner just needs to dry out..

just wet no big deal remove dry it off with a towel or hair dryer it will be fine

The water probably got to the gas valve under the stove top (or the burner itself) so it's wet and won't light up. If you give it time to dry, then it should come back on soon.

If it's been quite some time since that happened and the burner isn't working have you checked the pilot light? It might need reigniting with a match or lighter, but be VERY careful to do so. Many years back, my mother was relighting a pliot light at the bottom of the oven (the broiler part) and it blew up in her face and scorched her hair.

Instead of using your knob (electronic lighter) use a match to lite the burner and let it burn a couple minutes. good luck Les the painter
