Okay, I know your going to say: Because they all want to separate. But that's not true. I'm a quebecois. French is my first language, but I don't want to separate. I was searching some questions about this and everyone seems to think that all Quebecois hate Canada. Personally I'm proud to be Canadian. It's just English and French, why make such a big deal about it? I want to know other Canadians' view about this.

Many....many reasons, other then seperatists....

First, their is an impression that the federal government bends over backwards to keep Quebec happy. This is especially evident in Ontario and Alberta who lose millions in transfer payments to Quebec each year.

Official bilingualism along with the Quebec language 'police' does not sit well with much of Canada. Outside of Quebec, there are small pockets of French communities and most Anglophones see bilingualism as a waste of tax payer money, especially in places like Vancouver where French is way down the list of languages spoken. That countered with stories of Anglophones forced to change signs in Quebec that are in English.....doesn't sit well.

Corporate wellfare for Quebec industries....it used to be a joke out west that the best way to get money was to open up a Bombardier office and watch the government assistance flow in. I know, Bombardier isn't reflective of the Quebec people, but because of the name, it was so linked.

....okay and finally, the threat of seperation. Quebec needs something....they threaten seperation, and they get what they need. It is like provincial ransom.Canadians are just tired of the whole thing.

Because they have French accents and speak French. They have a culture that's different than the rest of the country. French Canadians, Canadians with any degree of French ancestry and those born in Quebec regardless of if they have French lineage or not should all be killed and the province should reclaimed and anglicize the province by the Anglophone community. I love Anglophone Canadians and First Nations people but I hate French Canadians.

I am a American from Maine My wife is a French Canadian I will be legally be married to her in May so I can stay here permanently with her in Drummondville , my grandfather in fact
was Canadian and American spoke English and french as long with his 20 brothers and sisters, how ever The English Canadian in some respect dislike Quebec cause they are different or how they do things. from as to liberate I don't think it all will happen
as much some parties in Quebec would like to it would take a large margin to all parties to consider to be a separate from English Canada. and would take a lot of money to seperate English Canada from Quebec by making a cross border
it is more better to leave what is well enough alone like what had happen in the 70's when Quebec wanted to at the time

there is nothing wrong to be a true Candian I am proud of my wife who she is and who my grandfather come from I am assure you there will be some who will disagree here. I had lived a english life and to live here it is very different life for me as I am learning to speak french at 45 this culture is different the french ppl are very close with there families more then on the english side

I am originally from the suburbs of Toronto. You are right that the reason is because of the separatists.

Granted you may not want separation from the rest of Canada, but the majority of Qubecois do. And a lot of the separatists don't like Canadians.

Stereotypes at their finest.

I loved being multi-lingual in school and I loved travelling to Quebec, it is beautiful there.

I am currently in the States and would love to come home and deal with separatists rather than deal with all of the racism and hate here.

genuinely being from the west, we extraordinarily lots hate the ~50% of the province (Going off of modern-day information)that seem the extremists stirring up all their "experience of entitlement" that expenditures the west an fantastically unfair equalization charge to the east so as that the unfair Political democratic equipment can forget on the subject of the western Canadian s way of existence in favour of votes in Quebec. It s Quebecs inhabitants in its province vs. The unequal illustration by technique of inhabitants of Canada s political equipment bent the basis of the difficulty. Make Johnny artwork harder to pay for Julie s new doll domicile and you ll have subject concerns. it particularly is undeniable human nature and an imbalance in political structures.

I don't hate Quebec. I think it has very nice tourist attractions and the people ... well even if they do want to separate, I'm sure deep inside you're genuinely nice people.

your question is flawed: the rest of Canada do not hate Quebec.
but it might be true that the rest of Canada is tired of referendums, each of which would be catastrophic if the separatist side got 50% plus one vote.

My guess, based on what I know, is that Quebec beats to it's own drum...that is, they act like their own country although really they are a part of a country.
