You have a flat latex on the wall most likely (or even a low sheen).
First try dish soap and water on a rag and see if the stain moves.
If not then try an abrasive clenser like Ajax or Comet on a moist clean rag.(try on a little spot first as a test.)The bleach in it won't matter it is so miniscule.
Once the stain is gone wipe a bigger area of the wall with water on a rag so you don't have a small spot to look at as the whole wall gets an even look. Painters know how to short cut it too.

409 spray works best for me when revoving stains or dirt from walls. You may want to do in a hidden corner first to make sure paint is not faded.

Oxy Clean-use a lot and a little bit of water. Wash it lightly with a rag. You'll be amazed. Took tons of mold off my shed before I had to repain it. I understand how important it is not to destroy the paint.

I agree with Seoul, I would take them back to the store, receipt or no receipt and let them know what has happened.
Just not acceptable.
