I am being induce tomorrow morning at 6. I was induced with my first child only because he was breech and they had to turn him around. (they broke my water and started me on a pitocin drip for the fear he might flip back around.) I had an epi from go. And almost 24 hrs later I had him What can I expect tomorrow? Do you think it will be that long again? Last wk at the dr I was 3cm and about 85% efface. Will I get the epi right off the bat again or will I have to wait? Any thoughts???Thanks!!!!!

First of all....goodluck. I know you must be so anxious to hold your child and finally meet him!! How exciting!

Each pregnancy is different. I know I did not get an epidural right away...didn't need one because contractions hadn't really started, you know?

They say the first labor is usually the longest. So hopefully it will be a quick one for you. Be friendly with the staff and take care of those nurses...they will, in turn, be sure to take care of you.

Congratulations and enjoy those first hugs and smooches!! How fun!

I was in labor for 12hrs the first time and pushed for 4 1/2. The second baby, I was in labor (induced) for 5 hours and pushed twice! She nearly FELL OUT! You generally get the epi when you are about 4-5cm dialated but I think that can vary. I got mine before the induction even started with the second one.

Every labor is different sweety. I think that since you are prepared this time that the time might seem to fly by. I don't think it will happen like that tommorow. Good luck honey.

P.S. I was in labor for 36 hours before the doctor decided to preform a C-section. My daughter's face was facing my navel instead of my spine. I was on pitocin and it brought on more pain.
