Well, it certainly doesn't make much improvement. Read on --->

"When you consider the greenhouse gases that are released in the growing and refining process, corn-based ethanol is only slightly better with regard to global warming than gasoline. Growing corn also requires the use of pesticides and fertilizers that cause soil and water pollution."

Dems aren't lying too us again by telling us how wonderful ethanol is. Are they?

You're missing the point.

Even if ethanol doesn't do any better than gasoline with regard to greenhouse gasses, it's still renewable and home-grown, as opposed to oil which is not renewable and mostly imported.

So, if you're going to continue burning something, we might as well solve at least one of the secondary problems, like supply.

ethanol also only contains about 2/3 of the amount of energy in comparison to gasoline. SO all the 30 mile per gallon cars can only expect to get about 20 MPG.....
