No standard wireless router will send a signal this far, you MAY be able to use a Yagi antenna or cantenna, but no guarantees. The max distance for a wireless router is 100 meters in air. Walls will reduce this distance.

A standalone wireless router would not work over that distance, without some assistance. If you are prepared to spend extra to buy a wireless antenna cable, and an antenna, you may be able to get that range. Mount the antenna outside, at an optimum point where you have line of sight to your out building.

For example, the following antenna

has a range of 2600 feet (860 yards). This is an omni directional antenna which is not quite ideal for your situation. A directional or Yagi type would be better.

Don't forget to turn on encryption, and other security systems on your wireless router.

In terms of wireless NIC, buy the same brand as your router. You will need another cable and antenna for this NIC, mounted with line of sight to the base antenna, so it can communicate with the base station.

However, as the previous poster has said, there is no guarantees..
