I think that it's possible they could have found someone better. They almost had Jake Gyllenhall for Spider-Man 2, they would have if Tobey hadn't returned. But since he's been Peter for 3 films, I think it would be a mistake to replace him for the fourth. If Tobey won't come back, I think they should not make another film.

Yeah because he's they only one to play Spiderman, Look at the men who played Batman, Micheal Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Adam West.
Superman Christopher Reeve, and Brandon Routh, now tell me who will replace Tobey Maguire Nobody.

i do no longer choose for all of us to replace Tobey Maguire as Spider-guy. he's the only guy interior the worldwide who can play Peter Parker/Spider-guy so superbly. Tobey Maguire won't refuse to play Spider-guy in destiny Spider-guy movies. he will proceed with the franchise for as long as he and that i the two stay.

YES! He's like Michael Keaton who's also the best Batman there is. Nothing can ever replace Tobey's best portrayal as the "World's Greatest Superhero", not even that overrated Andrew Garfield. And since I've heard rumors that they might bring him back, I say: ONE MORE CHANCE(Make that two actually):D

Seeing as he's been the only live action one since the horrid 70's TV show its a selective club.
Now if #4 is made and TM holds true to his statement that he's done w/ the franchise we'll have to see who takes up the suit next. He was often dismissed during the preproduction and wasn't accepted by fanboys or critics until the film was in theatres, so we will have to do the same with his successor(s)

There was one guy who played him in a couple of TV movies but I forget his name, I like Tobey better though.

He is a different Peter Parker than I have imagined from reading the comic books, though.
What actor would you suggest?
