You say you prepared for the AUDITION, but how many years have you been studying dance?

It has become so clear from a year of reading answers in this section how woefully uninformed the public is about how hard it is to "make it" in dance. So you are certainly not to be blamed for having such dreams to begin with. LaGuardia is almost like the Juilliard of high school performing arts, but look at all the people who foolishly believe that anyone can apply to Juilliard.

It's really unfortunate that other people misguided you, but it's not wrong to have an overall dream. This kind of rejection is a constant part of the dance world, even for some of the very best. But take this saying to heart: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. You just have to constantly make adjustments to your overall goals and keep looking for other ways to get to where you are going. My daughter has had her share of rejections, but she has come to value the detours on her path towards being a professional dancer as much as the direct throughways. This kind of defeat - and overcoming it - can actually help you to become a better dancer in the long run.

If you're not already taking classes at a top school, I recommend looking into The Ailey School.

Depending on what level you're in at Ailey, you can get essentially the same quality of training as you would at LaGuardia.

Don't give up on your dreams.

in the beginning, particular grades do remember. Laguardia demands this is applicants to have a minimum of an eighty universal in all significant matters and a minimum of a 2 on the state standardized tests. although, that's only a cut back off. you nonetheless ought to audition to get in. And particular, this is tough. although, i'm relatively sorry to tell you this, yet you're already too previous using word to Laguardia - ever. As you mentioned, this is too previous using word for tenth grade. yet what you don't be attentive to is which you will no longer word for eleventh grade. they only do no longer take any new applicants after tenth grade. i'm sorry.
