I am thinking of purchasing a mobile phone on the 3 network which gives me free texts and call time minutes. If I want to send texts to people on different networks then are they still free or does the recipient need to be on the 3 network?

Yes you can. Beware though choose your tariff carefully. As you can't downgrade you tariff for the full term of your contract.

yes corse you can on any network but when you buy it just watch out and read the conditions of the txts and minutse for example some could be on weekends only or on off peak minutes but more times than not you can use them all the time
