how can you tell a gay women from a straight women? if i was looking for a girlfriend (im female) how can i tell who is gay and who isn't without getting a slap?

You can't always. A few years ago I thought I had it all sussed out & met a girl at a bar. I really thought she was gay as she seemed really interested in me, & was looking at me a lot, smiling etc. I was convinced! She even asked to swap phone numbers with me. Next thing I knew she was eyeing up some blokes at the other end of the bar. I didn't know what was going on. Unless it was her cunning plan to find out if I was gay or not by seeing if I responded by saying "Oh yes, they are so handsome!" or whatever it is that straight women would say!?? So I have to say I don't know the answer for sure. However, usually I am right. I think you develop the instinct for it over time, you just start to know the look in her eye, or the smile or the way she places her hands. You can usually find out subtly in conversation or just ask, that way you won't make any mistakes!

To be honest I always just know (but then again I'm guessing I'm older than you & have therefore had more time to fine tune 'gaydar'!)try to pick up flirty hints from the conversation,if not then maybe discreetly ask one of their friends-if all else fails just ask,they probably won't slap you if you ask nicely enough!! anyway,good luck!!
