Do the naruto movies and OVA's have any relation to the overall plot of the tv series plot? If I skip the movies and OVA's will it matter?

no..but it's better if you watch the tv series since is very good, and by doing that you could know the character and their jutsu better.

The movies don't really have to do anything with the plot. You can skip it if you want, but the movies are pretty good(to me they are).

ps. Did you know that The Naruto Movie 1 is coming out this summer?(It's in the English version)

properly, the English dub of the 1st Naruto movie is bobbing up later this night, however the english dub of Naruto Shippuden the movie heavily isn't popping out for some extra years. HOW staggering! Later this autumn, the jap version would be popping out in theaters. try making plans a visit to Japan to observe the whole movie, one hundred% no longer in english, and take jap training! ...or only verify Youtube for the movie.

no it won't matter, although you should watch the movies if your a fan of the series they're pretty good (esp the 2nd one if your a Gaara fan). the OVA is funny.

I only know The escape of the princess and that one has nothing to do with the series, in fact it can't even be placed in the chronological order of the events in the series.

like in the dragonball manga... the movies are non canon... wich means if u just seethem in the end of the anime or at the start... the movies have no interfeerence with the sereis plot

I've seen two of the three naruto movies. It won't matter if you miss them.
