My hermit crab came out of his shell and hasn't gone in a knew on yet. Its been hours. What do I do? He's gone into the corner,if that helps you any.

They need a few different sizes and styles to choose from,I hope you have it in a glass tank with heat and moisture at the right temperature and humidity. If the tank is too hot that could be the problem.Try putting it in a bowl not too big with it's old shell and a new shell and little room to move around for awhile and see if he'll get in a shell.Make sure the shells are clean inside. your crab may be sick. why don't you look up on the internet on the care of hermit crabs. how old is it? also, make sure there is a shell that's not too big, but not too small, it has to fit just right. hope this helps. oh, also, even though they are called "Hermit crabs" they really like company, in the wild they live in groups. maybe he's lonely. you might try getting him a friend to put in the tank with him.
