Today the most common topic in the news is immigration, should latinos be legalized ???

I THINK THEY SHOULD BE LEGALIZED BECAUSE NO BODY IMAGINES WHAT THEY GO THROUGH , FOR BEING ILLEGAL ,
no body respects them , they get paid less , and most of them havent seen their family for years and so many family's are divided ---- I think that most people forget that if they come is because they have no money to eat , to live , so all the did wrong was breaking the law for food

It's not about Latinos. Anyone who wants to be a citizen of the United States should only be "legalized" if they follow the legal procedures of doing so.

No one who "breaks the rules" should be rewarded for disrespecting the system. If you show up here illegally (meaning: not following the rules), you can't expect to break the law and then be able to stay. What kind of example does that show? I'll tell you this: it won't make a case for being a law-abiding citizen to any young, impressionable minds.

This country is made up of generations of immigrants from around the world and their descendants. All the immigrants who played by the rules and waited their orderly turn had to go through a process. These "illegals" are no better than anyone else and should not be given preferential treatment, especially not after breaking the rules.

In this day and age, with all the chaos in the world, there needs to be a system in place that is adhered to, in order to keep track of who is here. Just like all US-born citizens are given a Social Security number to keep track of their identity, we absolutely need to keep track of the people who come here from anywhere in the world, because we don't necessarily know what each individual's agenda is when they come here.

There are criminals in all societies, even, obviously, US-born criminals. But because there are criminals here and all over the world, that is just one obvious reason why millions of undocumented people must not be made legal without going through a process. There are countless cases of "illegals" killing and raping and assaulting people across this country (just do a search) and there is no real way to keep track of them because they are not in the system.

Wait in line and wait your turn is what I say. Opportunity will still be here when you get your chance. Don't slap tradition in the face and expect a welcome mat.

What planet are you from? Legalize latinos? Latinos are not legal or illegal. The staus of some latinos in the USA is illegal since they entered the country w/out getting permission.

It is already legal to be a Latino in the U.S.A..

I think your true question might be, should those Latinos in the U.S, illegally be offered citizenship?

First off, while Latinos make up a great number of those in the U.S. without legal permission, All illegal immigrants are not Latinos.

So your question should have been; Should illegal immigrants be given legal status?

I wont answer that one since you were incapable of asking it.

In answer to your original question; yes! All citizen of north, central and south America, should be able to travel, live and work freely in any nation on the American continent.

latinos are not illegal, the people who broke the laws by entering this country are here illegally.

The laws exist for a reason, and anyone wishing to enter this or any other country should be require to do so by following the rules set forth by the country they wish to enter. It sucks and its sad that their home country is unable to provide them with the work an dor support they need to feed a family, but that does not make it right that they break the laws of this nation to come here and leech off of the benifts that were created and set forth for our own citizens.

not only should they not be 'legalized' they should be rounded up and deported, and the career criminals, killers and rapists should be shot.

Illegals should leave and come back the legal route, whether they are Latinos or some other nationality.
As for Latinos, Americans are so angry about the illegals, that it seems if Latino prejudice is worse than any other minority prejudice. So Latinos themselves should try to get legal status (legally of course, with no fake papers, etc)

JUST Latinos? What about the OTHERS that came here under false pretences (vacation, study, etc) and have overstayed, aren't they here also illegally? WHY do you single out Latinos? WHAT is YOUR problem?

What, and make Florida a ghost town by deporting the Cubans WHERE... to Texas?

According to some Native Americans, EVERY person here today came here illegally... they are the ORIGINAL inhabitants, why don't THEY have a voice in this matter?

To say that they should be 'legalized' implies that they are illegals, that is an incorrect term. In our system of law, only what has been explicitly forbidden by law is illegal, everything else is perfectly legal.

There is no law that explicitly forbids entry into the United States, there are a myriad of laws that REGULATE the entry into this country, so the correct way to refer to people that failed to follow established legal procedure for entry is UNDOCUMENTED, since in order for somebody to become 'illegal' there would have to be a law that they have actively broken. That is not the case, by being in the US without having followed the proper legal procedure for entry they are UNDOCUMENTED not illegal.

That said, there should be a comprehensive immigration reform that addresses the issue of those undocumented people already in the US, get them into the system and have them become productive members of our society. Give them the ability to start businesses and take out loans, pay taxes and serve in the military.

Cheers,

Latinos are legal, provided they came here legally in the first place. If you're asking about the ones whose first action in their new country is to break its immigration laws, then my answer is a resounding "NO!"

Only if they go back home and then come back through proper legal channels like they should. They should not be awarded with citizenship for breaking the law.
