I want a my space!!!! but parent arrr....?

Question

I am 14 years old and female and i really want a myspace. All of my friends have them and i really want to be able to have contact with them. Im gradutating in June from a school i been to for ever and i really want to stay in contact with people more then just cell phones and aim. I don't want to sneek one behind my parents back. I want to be opean with them but they just won't seem to buge. I have tried telling them that I won't have a picture of me up in the thing, and i will only have mine on privet. Im stressing out here. Please Please Please help!!!!!!!!! I really need avise so please give me tips on dealing with this. I'll take any thing. Im quit desprit and i really am getting sick of the annoying perpressure of sneeking one because i don't want to do that . PLEASE HELP !!!!

I do not have a my space yet , I really want one but i want to respect my parents intill they deside to allow me to have one. It really hard tho , now even my brother has one that my parents don't know and im trying to keep strong so any tips are good.

I know what you feel like. I wanted a Myspace really badly. But my parents put a blocking system on my computer so I coudn't have it. But think about it. What can you do on myspace? Post comments and pictures. Thats about it. After having the blocking up for a while, I relised that Myspace was a waste of time and doesn't look fun. But, if you still want it, then when's your next birthday? Maybe then or close to then, ask about Myspace again. But don't yell at them. Just tell them
"I know we've discussed this topic before, but I really think I'm old enough to get a MySpace account." . Tell them how mature you are and tell them that you wont put a picture of yourself up. Also, explain to them about when you have your profile private. Good Luck!

Just listen to them maybe they have a reason why they are doing this. A girl got murdered once by being on myspace and meeting up with the guy that she was talking to.
Or maybe if you reallly really want a myspace you can tell them you are not ignorant and that you know what not to do online

I think your parents are doing the right thing and a matter of fact i would allow my teenage daughter or son to be on a computer in the first place. Computers can be a harmful thing to youn ladies like yourself and anyone can find anything they wont to know about you. how do you think kids get kidnapped. good luck.

but if i where you i'd stop sneeking you know the will and can find out everything you type and do on a computer so i'd come clean with them and stop playing with fire before you get hurt. your parents love you and only do this out of love.

Your not missing out on anything. Plus your parents know what their talking about. Teen girls get raped and killed by pedophiles who portray themselves as 15, 16 year old boys looking for young girls like you to have sex with. And it's easy for anyone that knows how to bypass security and hack into the myspace system to find your information.

try facebook.com instead. it's a lot safer, a lot of people have them, and you have to use your real first name and at least last initial, so you'll know who you're talking to. and you have to be in the same network as someone to see their profile without being their friend, so anyone you don't want seeing your profile, can't. Also, pictures are UNLIMITED! it's soo much better than myspace!

ok people...myspace is only "bad" if YOU make it that way. 1st of all you can make it private, only letting the people you want to see it. you dont need to put your name or where u live (never put where u live). the only people who are getting "hunted down" are the people who let everyone see their profile. Its their fault. they should no that there are weirdos out there...so you can be safe on it. just be smart
