Yes, I have one and have saved tons of cash on natural gas. I use a Takagi for both heating and domestic hot water in a 1800 square foot home in the northeast USA. Have been using it for 2 years and am pretty happy except for two things. In the summer, when it is only used for domestic hot water, it seems to take a long time to get hot water to an outlet like the shower or a sink. Also, sometimes the flow rate is not enough in the summer to turn on the water heater when filling the dishwasher. Just to let you know, I am a plumber and installed this myself. You should have pre-filtering and even a water softener if possible. Also, Mr. Old Time Plumber may not be the guy to install this for you. It is a little out of the hot on the left, cold on the right, and poop goes down hill realm. Ask your local plumbing wholesaler for a good plumber who has been installing these for a while.

For that size condo you could use a Titan heater for $200 on ebay. You will have to learn to use the water heater because water flow affects the heat now. If you want electric, then you might need to add in a cost of an electrician to wire the connections because you will need 220v and 60amp wires at a minimum.

this is hard to assert what you will actual save on the utilities, yet you may save something. you will additionally save some area. you will in no way run out of warm water. and that they final longer than a tank water heater. $900 is actual the main inexpensive fee for an put in tankless i've got ever heard - this is incredibly decrease than the fee of a sturdy unit by ability of itself. be conscious that the greater desirable gadgets are from Noritz, Takagi, or Rinnai.

Well it depends on how long your going to live there and how much water you use. Tank less systems are more efficient but it can take as many as ten years to recover your extra initial cost. Tanked systems are cheaper but will usually only last about ten years. Tank less systems can last as long as twenty years. If you are going to move in two or three years a tank less system will not add much to the value of the building. 5 gallon water heaters run $200 50 gallon run $700. tank less run 1000-2000

I have never used one. That said, I have installed eight of them. I have also removed and rewired every one of them back to a standard tank system. Unless you have a reverse osmosis water softener you will have major problems with mineral build up.
