They are all good ideas. Velcro works great!

Here a couple of links to give you more ideas. You can do a search for "How to make a denim purse" to see more.

You want to take a pair of jeans that are big enough for the purse you want to make. Either open the inseams and cut the legs off to the desired length you'd like the purse to be. Sew the legs closed like a skirt and then sew the bottom closed. Take the left over cut off denim and sew that closed to make a strap, then sew it onto the purse. You may want to stuff the strap with batting so that it doesn't irritate your shoulder.

You can use the pockets from a second pair of jeans to make the coin purse and glasses case, also other things like hmmmm.....pockets, they can be sewn into the interior of the bag to keep it organized. From the second pair of jeans cut about onehalf inch on each side of the double reinforced seam and throw the long seam pieces into the dryer to further shrink and ravel. This makes a great shoulderbag strap or a drawsting.

I wouldn't use velcro I would use a snap. Dont add a ribbon. How about adding a belt around it? That would be really cute. And for the straps I would do like a beaded strap. Hope that helps!
