Try restarting your computer and when is shuts of and comes right back on, start tapping on the F8 key several time while the black screen is up showing that its loading. Doing this should take you to a page that gives you the option to put your computer in safe mode and there is a spot that you click on that says reboot. try rebooting your system and that should do it. I recommend you get a second opionion though.

You can do a system recovery. It resets it to the point like it just came out of the box. If you put any files on the computer that you want to save, make sure you move them somewhere that comes with the computers. You can move them to my documents, my computer,etc......

if you are using Windows XP, then just go to start>help&support>system restore, and choose the earliest date that you can. you may want to back up software and all important files such as pictures and music because they might be gone after system restore. or just pop in the Windows XP CD that came with your computer, but be sure to burn stuff to dvds or cds that you want to keep.
