I was immune even before I had my own kids, because I babysat for money when I was in school and had to change quite a few. I think most people just do it. It's your kid and the quicker you get it done, the better they will smell. To me there's really no point to gagging and putting on a show. It needs to be done and at some point in every ones life someone took care of it for us, so now it's my turn. I will say though, I'm glad both of my kids a potty trained now and I don't have to do it except occasionally for my nephew☼

ha ha ha! That reminds me of my late mother, God Bless her soul!

She NEVER got used to the smell of a nasty diaper even after 3 kids and 8 grandkids.

I have seen some friends come up with an ingenious solution. they took a cute bandana, sewed in some quilt batting and sewed it into a cute gag shield.

I just take a big breath and go quickly to the job and give the room a squirt of natural air freshener when done. AND we throw the poopy diapers OUTSIDE immediately.

You don't get used to it. You have to suck it up and deal with it, until the time they are potty trained. It's a rite of passage. Plus, the more foods that they are introduced to, the worse it becomes unfortunately. Hold out until they are ready to be potty trained.

This is why its best to try and potty train them at 1-1 and a half
because they are eating normal foods and its normal poo not like babies poo
but its your baby so should be used to it.lol

Never, ever got used to it; had five kids in the pre-disposable days! All cloth nappies and sterilising buckets; and because your kid is 20 months, nearly adult poo in those nappies! Start training him!

we all need the toilet but unfortunately babies cant make their own way and climb up and sit on it.personally it doesnt bother me,i actually cant wait to change my babies nappy, because it must be very uncomfortable,i'd prefer to change my babies nappy than clean up their sick, being a parent involves a lot of messy work, but thats what being a parent is all about, and i love it! :-)

it comes down to love. You love your child more then anything and would do anything for them, without a thought, That is what being a parent is, thats what love is. Im female by the way
