WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT THAT?!!!!! ROFLMAO!!!!! If you want a vehicle for better gas mileage, get a VOLKSWAGEN with TDI!!!!!

It is possible, but there are many questions to answer before doing it: Is it worth the cost? How much more does the Blazer weigh than the VW (in essence, how much power will be lost)? Can the VW engine really handle 4X4 use? If you have your mind set on the VW engine, I would go with a Turbo Diesel (as you can pull more power out of it). I would also recommend just buying a 4 cylinder S10 or Ranger, these get decently good gas mileage (20-25).

I like fords but the 2.3 engine is crap.I would stay with the VW engine.Don't let anyone tell you that you can't build a ho-po VW engine. I had a1957 bug in the 1980's that would run low 7 seconds in the 1/8 mile.

I'm with Rakel !

If you aren't getting 25 mpg on trips with a 262 cubic inch (4.3 liter) S-10 it needs a little tickle. My S-10 with 3.73 gears does just that. A tiny little V dub's motor, crank, rods, pistons bearings and block wouldn't last in a truck. If you're a serious engineering person take all size data of each engine and come up with a reasonable conclusion.

Of course it is "possible". The question is, are you willing to pay many times more than the engine & truck are worth to have it done? It is not a direct swap and would require expert customization.
