I try to open via the button and it just makes the sound like its trying to open but can't. I can open it with the pinhole technique, but if I put a cd in it, it just pops back open. If I manage to get the cd in, the second it reads it, it opens automatically. What's wrong with it? What can I do?

Based on what you said, it sounds to me as though the CD drive is in need of replacement. I'd like to suggest that when you do replace it, you do so with a CD/DVD combo drive, since you're going to the trouble of removing the old one. Hi,
The best thing to do is get a New Drive only about £25 and throw that one in the bin and they are easy to fit.
