You are entitled to your opinion, however most people in the US don't even know who Pelosi is.

depends on the attention span of the American public.
some stupid scandal or Anna Nicole Smith can make us forget anything...and we also want immediate results...like a war that has been going on for 4 years can end in 30 days...
so, it's anyone's guess what our dumb asses will vote for in the US.

As it stands now, Giuliani is the only GOP candidate who has a chance at winning the preisdential election. As his nomination would likely cause a problem amongst social conservatives (being credited with two preisdential elections has a way of going to your head), I would expect a third party candidate.

McCain has made too many enemies on both sides of the aisle, Romney would be too easy to brand as a flip flopper, no one knows who Huckabee is. If Gingrich decides to run (which I think he will), his nomination would galvanize the left. Brownback scares about 80% of the ocuntry (or would if people knew who he was).

The absolute WORST thing the Democratic party could do is nominate Hillary Clinton as their candidate. Her nomination would galvanize the right. Even though her husband was an incredibly popular president (say what you will, but he was) there are few names out there that inspire more blind, seething hatred than Hillary Clinton. I say "blind" because most people honestly couldn't tell you why they hate her. but they do and that kind of passion can not be reasoned with.

Obama and Edwards would trounce any one in the Republican field other than Giuliani, which would be close. Richardson would be competitive but very far from a lock. If Gore chose to run (which I don't think he will)... I'll be honest, I don't know what would happen if Gore chose to run and won the nomination. The arguments against him for president have gotten thinner and thinner as the years have passed, but he is still an object of reflexive hate for the right.

These are the political realities of the situation. They have nothing to do with whose politics are right, it's just the cyclical nature of the beast.

The next election is in November, and there are very few elections. Nothing major.

But in 2008, the Republicans will win it. Many people won't vote for a black or a woman.

Democrats won the last election and took over congress because everyone was voting against Bush.

I think the Republicans will win the presidential because everyone has had enough of the Clinton family of lies.

i do no longer think of Labour will win the subsequent election, quite after putting the rustic into billions of kilos of debt. that's in all probability to be the Tory's and that's merely as painful as Labour.

With hope maybe this time a 3rd or 4th party candidate will win. I am sure then the things that should happen may happen. They will not owe millions to repay all the ones that got them there.

Most Americans are already sick of the Democrat "do nothing" Congress. Read the polls. The Democrats have an incredible ability to shoot themselves in the foot. I think it will be a Republican victory in 2008.

On the presidential level, I don't think it will ultimately matter much because the next president will be a moderate.
