Absolutely. Store bought HPTs require a certain level of HCG (the human pregnancy hormone) to be excreted in order to turn the test positive.
A quantitive blood test can tell you the EXACT amount of Hcg found in the blood stream. Anything over 5 is considered pregnant. *Most Hpt's require 25-100 hcg to turn positive.

Testing tip: Make sure to test with HPTs first thing in the morning when the urine is most concentrated. It dilutes throughout the day.

Good luck!

Yes. The home pregnancy tests only tests the pregnancy hormone in the urine. It is possible to get false positives and negatives. With home tests, they say you should test in the morning with your first morning urine, because the hormones are most prominent then. A blood test is the best way to determine if you are pregnant.

Oh most definite. I have been there and done that. Home pregnancy tests are sometimes wrong. Blood tests are a better way to find out. I was 6 weeks with my daughter, and I took a home test, it was negative. I went to the doctor, and guess what, It was possitive... If you have doubts, I say see your doctor....

yes. blood test are able to detect the pregnancy hormone HCG at lower levels than the urine test because of that you can test positve on a blood test but negative on a urine test because you do not have enough HCG in your urine

Yes. Some women do not excrete enough HCG in their urine to get a positive result, but the hormone cannot be diluted in blood, so that will give a positive.
