Interesting points of view it seems that there are 2 main points, corporations oppress the working class and the other is that the ones that are not oppressed don't notice oppression of any kind.
Is the classic example that if I don't suffer from it, it doesn't exists.

The same people who cry for freedom from oppression in our country and ask to do away with big government are the same people who fuss and cry that the government didn't do enough when terrorism, national disasters, etc effect us. Your question is pretty subjective.
Compaired to most people in most country we are all damn lucky. And for those who cry that we are slaves to corporations we happen to live in a country where you can start your own corporation by filing with the government, true oppression wouldn't allow us to do this..

Hell yes. There is no more freedom of speech, there is no freedom from government, there is no seperation of church and state. We are highly overtaxes and not represented at all.
We have a president in office that didn't even win. We "vote" but really it's not the popular vote that decides- it's the electoral college (who we don't even elect!). We waste billions of dollars on the presidential vote and when it comes down to it.. we really DON'T have a choice.
I'm stuck here at work all day fixing computer problems because the most energy saving thing Bush could come up with is moving the daylight savings up a few weeks. God forbid we get tax breaks on energy saving lightbulbs, or they put some money into alternative fuels. God forbid he respected the clean air or clean water acts. We're being poisoned- though the media, through the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we drink.

America is the best country on the planet, but it still isn't what it should be. We need a return to our Constitutional roots, including respect for life, liberty, and property (that 1st one isn't too well-respected period, the 2nd isn't respected by the Neo-Cons, and the 3rd isn't respected by the left; all 3 should be respected). America needs a government that will get out of the peoples' business and limits itself to defense. We don't need entitlement programs, regulatory agencies that screw up the economy, or any interference with our right to trade with each other. We don't need warmongers in power. We don't need any of those ridiculous victimless crime laws. We don't need a government that counterfeits money. We just don't need big government. Why is it so easy to create big government, but so hard to destroy it?

No, haven't you been reading your own remarks, Americans oppress all of the other poor, weak will, directionless, dictator run, whacked out Islamic countries.
Now if you are asking if the poor in America is oppressed then the answer is yes only not so bad as the poor in other countries.

Oppression is a relative term. I would say the answer to your question is "yes," however. Our standards of governing and living are described in the Constitution, and those standards are consistently being violated. So, yes, we are being oppressed, according to our American standards.

Yes, in a most insidious way. They are generally made to follow the leader and not think for themselves.
Truth is omitted or restructured in the media making the rest of the world more accurately informed than Americans.
The most successful prolific education is advertisements; smart kids (adults too) are alienated and made fun of. They are made to feel badly about their abilities.
I call this oppression of the worst kind.
