Since it hard for me to have sex on my ovulation date due to my partner working out of town and we just see each other on the weekends i just wanted to know what my chances are in getting pregnant before my ovulationd date. Which occording to opk it was 2 days after me and my partener had sex. Please let me know what yall think weve been trying to get pregnant for 2 yrs.

Sperm Living in Your Body
The maximum is usually five days, and only if you have optimal cervical mucus, which is eggwhite or watery. Sperm last longer in that fluid, which peaks shortly before ovulation. If you have recently menstruated, or are due to again soon, sperm probably won't last more than a day or two, if they make it past the hostile cervial fluid you have the rest of the month.
Here is more input and advice:
It is a fact that sperm can live up to 4-5 days in your body, contrary to anything else you may have heard or read. In addition to this fact, the egg released can live between 24-48 hours. Therefore, your fertile period starts approximately 4-5 days PRIOR to ovulation and ends 24-48 hours after ovulation. If you do the math, it is possible for some woman to be fertile for as many as 7 days. You may have heard you can only get pregnant one or two days a month...SO NOT TRUE!!! You may only ovulate that long, but with the life of sperm and the life of the egg, your fertile time can be much longer. Another bit of info that many woman don't know is that female sperm are slower but stronger and therefore live longer than male sperm which are faster, but weaker. In other words, male sperm will usually beat out female sperm in the race for the egg, yet female sperm will usually out live male sperm. So, if you are trying for a girl, have sex the 5th, 4th, and 3rd day before ovulation and then abstain.

Well, you had sex on your most fertile days honey, so yes...it is very possible you've become pregnant. You have about a 5-6 day 'fertile window' each month, that being 4-5 days before ovulation, and possibly the day after...The egg lives about 18 hours after it's released, so it is possible to catch it the next day...and sperm can live for up to 5 days in the right condition, so if you had good EWCM and your partner's sperm are good strong swimmers, they can definitely hang around and wait for that eggie! The sperm can live for anywhere from 48-72 hours within the woman's reproductive system depending on the how favorable the cervical environment is. Sexual intercourse every 2-3 days, around or at the time of ovulation, should be adequate to achieve pregnancy. I've been TTC for 8 months.

It's possible, since it' spossible for sperm to live inside you for up to 6 days. In fact, people who are trying to sway the gender for a female baby usually have sex 2-4 days before ovulation since girl sperms are more long-lasting.
