Being negative is passive. The "bad thing" is happening to you, there is nothing you can do about it. Being positive means that you reverse the role so that things don't happen to you, you happen to you. If you are feeling that you are negative, just think of it this way, "I am happening to me." Once you are in control, you will be more positive. It's hard to do this, but I've forced myself to, and I'm much happier.

You can only think positive when you are an active person ready to fight for the best and to claim everything you own. To think negatively is the easy solution to your problems it doesn't take any effort to make things better. When you are negative you just accept bad situations they way they are without try to change that.

I think it's natural for people to think negatively rather than positively since we tend to be self-centered, a bit biased and judgmental/critical. Decent, educated people, I think again, should learn how to think both ways and, sometime remain neutral. However, the two major ways of the said thinking would benefit us all since each had its pros and cons and we should be a bit reflective so that we learn how to use, say, some side effects to support our work or living more happily in daily life.

Negativity stands to the forefront of memory. Usually pain and discomfort are associated with negative situations/feelings. Therefore, it's easy to see the negative rather than the positive. We are creatures of habit and we habitually seek negativity.

It's not...it takes just as much energy to think positively as it does to think negatively.

Now, how most people think is - they don't think at all. They are walking reaction who follow the the thought of "I think it there fore it must be true"

So, the pinball game begins - one reacts to the other who then reacts to the reaction of the one that was reacting to their reaction. (Phewwwww - did I really just write that?!?!?!?!) Anyway, no one is really for the most part "the action" - everyone is just a bunch of reactions to each other.

So, people see something happen - then react to it for the most part with ignorance. They jump up and down and scream with thier first response, talk about how it is and blah, blah, blah. Then later on when they find out the whole story - they react and justify their behavior and jump up and down and scream and blah, blah, blah... (This is true to whether they were screaming in joy or anger.)

To think negatively one must take action, but then to think positively one must take action too. But as for "reaction based behavior" that most people live by - it is just plain ignorance that is very easy to think.

So, no it is not easier to think negatively than positively. It is easier to be ignorant display "reaction based behavior" in other words - "Pinball Heads"

When things are positive, we don't have to do anything about it. However, when they are negative we feel compelled to change it. The first step to changing something is to talk about it. This is further complicated by the fact that not everyone applies the same value system, therefore, what is a positive thing for you maybe a very negative thing for them.

It's because of the conditioning we have received ever since our parents sent us to public schools.
You will notice that most children before school don't know the meaning of "NO". No is negative.
Look into the eyes of a baby and tell me if you see any negativity. No ! It comes from adults and yes I am an adult but I try not to stifle peoples dreams.
Thomas Edison once "imagined" a light bulb before they existed and you could bet your bottom dollar that everyone told him he was crazy. Any bets????

It is so easy to think both ways because "negatively" and "not positively" are the same thing!

But, seriously, pessimism and optimism are habits. Habits are hard to break until you recognize them. Now that you have recognized the habit, see the glass as half full. It's your choice.

Because we always assume the worst. We are afraid that if we think positively, what we think will not come true. So we rather let ourselves think negatively and be positiely surprised than think positively and be disappointed.
