Why doesn't our government do more to stop pop culture form corrupting our children's minds?

Are they getting paid off by the companies that produce this filth?

My daughter is only 8 years old and she already thinks it's ok for her to be sexually active. I blame pop culture, and the government for not doing anything about it.

The degradation and debasement of our children starts with the teaching them that they are born guilty and are doomed unless they are "saved". This corrupts and discredits their sense of self-worth and human dignity. Learning to be driven by fear, their self-esteem takes a nosedive. They grow up to be docile consumers, led around by the nose by the manipulators who profit from them, living to please others who control them.

This is a free society, an eight yr. has other things to do than watch them discusting videos. I agree there is to much filth on the tube, but I will defend there right to broadcast it. Instead of plopping your child down in front of the T.V. as a surrogate baby sitter so you can talk on the phone, spend more time with your daughter and teach her morals. I'm Democrat and a liberal but I still believe God and family values. All T.V. have parental locks on them today. Get off the phone and out of the beauty parlor and learn how to use it. Quit crying about somebody else teaching your child and do it yourself. Be a parent. It's not an easy job.

What the heck do you expect the government to do? Aren't you her MOTHER? Maybe YOU should go to parenting school. And turn off VH1, Real World and all of the other sexually explicit programming. Start raising your own...

It is not up to the government to raise ur children corectly, we can all take the responsibility to change the way things are. There are parental blocks on the T.V., we can not subscribe to certain magazines, the govornment is not responsible if u are exposing ur children to these things, if all parents took the steps it would solve for this culture in wich we see it as ok to do these things at such a young age, when that generation grows up it will form that new more respectfull and right culture.

Amen, Not only that but all these stupid games the kids are into today,I just learned that those games with violence and killing cause a certain brain cell not to function properly. The TV crap,the neighbor who dont know what is going on,with kids our kids play with,the movies,The lack of Christianity,and takeing God out of our schools,then when schools get into problems they try asking God for help,how hyocritical is that. All of the things that are wrong with our society and America is caused by the liberals,the jane fondas,the hilary clintons,when we have a president that has sex in the oval office of our white house,how can we expect our leaders to set an example for the kids.

This is a direct outgrowth of the Democrats love of Hollywood and all the cash the stars can pour into their election coffers...

The Dems do not preach personal responsibility .... they want abortion instead of taking responsibility for their own actions .... they have found that by supporting anyone and anything with no cull factors that they can get votes .... and a vote is worth more than life itself to a Dem ...

Once again they are caught up in the idea of doing what is rite for themselves and not what is rite for the country....

It is not the governments job to raise your children - it is yours.

If your 8 year old really thinks what you say, she is watching too much TV and you aren't monitering what she watches. You do what many bad parents do, plop the kid in front of the TV, give 'em a bag of chips and a soda - then they will stay out of your hair.

I am sorry, but not only is it wrong for you to blame pop culture on how your kids perceive things, but maybe you should look at what you are letting your kids watch, and listen to what you're letting your kids listen to. Every person that is involved with the media should realize that they ARE very impressionable on young kids, and young adults, but it's TIME FOR PARENTS TO ALSO START TAKING RESPONSIBILITY AND STOP BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE.
